Masters Golf Betting Preview

Masters Golf Betting Preview and Betting Odds

Like all aspects of life, and in particular the sports calendar throughout 2020/21, the PGA has been subject to scheduling bumps and shake-ups for close to a year. The Masters was held in the fall in 2020 (instead of April) on November 12-1,5 for the first time in history.

In 2021, the Augusta National Golf Club will host the Masters on April 8-11, with a prize fund for the winner of $11,500,000. Hmm. A spot of golf, anyone?

The prize pot for Bodog bettors is also on the rise, and there is no better time to consider your bet on the Masters with the best golf odds. But before you do, it’s prudent to review the 2021 Master’s odds below and see who to look out for in PGA golf betting this year

The Masters Favourites

There’s a good reason why everybody flocks towards the favourites. With impressive stats and an all-around buzz surrounding their game, these are the players who make PGA golf betting as comfortable as walking shoes.

Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy is tantalizingly close to landing a Grand Slam, and sportsbooks are unanimous that McIlroy is the leading favourite at +300. All he needs is this Masters under his belt to claim the Grand Slam. As of now, looking at Augusta National, six of his last seven starts have hit top 10s.

Dustin Johnson

McIlroy won’t be alone on the green as a top favourite, since “DJ” Dustin Johnson is currently at 9 top-10 finishes out of 13 appearances, including a show-stopping record at Riviera. The Master’s odds for Johnson are +600, but he still needs to sharpen up his par-5s, which are dangerously close to Sam Burn,s who is 5-under for the same holes.

Bryson DeChambeau

Not far behind on the PGA Golf betting favourites line up is Bryson DeChambeau. The “Scientist” is famous for his unrelenting focus out on the green, and ever since he scored his first ace in 2019 on the par-3 16th hole in the final round, DeChambeau has been on everyone’s radar. Accordingly, his Master’s odds come in at +450.

Viktor Hovland

Norwegian Viktor Hovland is no longer an amateur, and his birdie average of 4.67 per round has landed him 9th on the PGA Tour, and the Master’s betting is hot with Hovland action as a favourite with odds at +1000.

Jon Rahm

Jon Rahm has been a rising star ever since finishing fourth in 2018, and how he holds the position as the second ranked player in the world. When it comes to the Master’s betting, it’s guys like Rahm who keep us on our toes with odds at +1200.

The Masters Underdogs

The Masters Underdogs

Don’t be so quick to overlook these golfers. Time and time again an unlikely hero rises up to return some lucky bettors from the bunker.

Collin Morikawa

With Master’s odds at +4000, it’s safe to say Morikawa has some leveling-up to do. 2019/20 was a good year for him, and we can expect this rising star to improve on his T-44 from Augusta National and surprise us all.

Hideki Matsuyama

This year at the Vivint Houston Open, Matsuyama finished T-2 after shooting 63 on the final round, marking his third 63-score or better. Overall, Matsuyama is overdue for a championship, and his Master’s odds could pay off handsomely at +3300.

Tyrrell Hatton

As a winner of the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2020, Tyrrell Hatton has come a long way since he first went pro in 2011. He managed to score his first 18-hole lead at the The CJ Cup at Shadow Creek this year, finishing T-3. With odds at +3300, Hatton has a real shot at turning punters a profit for the Master’s betting.

Tony Finau

Tony Finau has caught our eye as a player who’s put in his fair share of work to improve his game. In just one year he’s leveled up from 6th to 2nd in the Farmers Insurance Open from 2020-2021. Now with a T8 finish at the US open in September, Finau has made it to the top 10 in major championships for his third consecutive time. This could be Finau’s year, and odds for the Master’s betting on Finau are sitting at +3300.

Patrick Reed

With 9 PGA Tour victories under his belt, Patrick Reed won’t be packing up his clubs any time soon.   In his most recent victory he won the Farmers Insurance Open by five strokes, marking his first win by that margin. If anything, Reed will be driving to land another title to his name, and his odds are at +2500 to do so.

The Master’s betting is just around the corner now, and the time to get involved is now. Keep an eye on the favourites, but don’t overlook contenders like Reed who are more than capable of pulling through.
