Grammys Betting: Album & Record of the Year

It’s the night of nights for artists across the globe as they vie for the most coveted spots at the Grammy Awards. Follow on as Bodog breaks down the movers and shakers for 2022.

The 2022 Grammy Awards arrive a touch later than we’re used to, and artists of all stripes – some household names and others soon-to-be, will be cradling the gold-gilded gramophone on April 3 from 8 pm ET. The stars will strut down the red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas – rather than Los Angeles, where the ceremony has been held for the last few years.

From the red carpet in front of your own television screen (imagination works just as well), your own artist of choice could be singing up a storm of wins for the both of you – just by getting into the swing of Grammy Awards betting at Bodog Casino.

There are quite a few great artists in contention on this year’s docket, and Bodog Casino is already prepared for the big day with the latest Grammy betting odds.

Who will take home the most sought-after trophy in music? Let’s see what looks good.

Grammy 2022 – Album of the Year

Album of the Year is the most prestigious award handed out each year at the Grammys. 2021’s winner was Taylor Swift for her album Folklore, her eighth studio album, and one that was released unexpectedly the previous July.

Roll around to 2022 and a fresh list of 10 artists are nominated for the same award, including Taylor Swift (again), Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Lil Nas X. There are, however, two that are standout favourites to win it.

Olivia Rodrigo (-200)

Olivia Rodrigo is in the top position thanks to her debut album, “Sour”, largely due to the massive success of “Driving License”, her debut single. Her current Grammy betting odds are -200, and the buzz surrounding her nomination is growing ever louder. Her album broke Spotify’s record for the biggest opening week for a female artist’s album, indicating her velvety voice and youthful appeal is just the beginning.

Billie Eilish (+275)

Following closely behind with odds of +275 is Billie Eilish. Her “Happier Than Ever” album contains a list of thought-provoking, lyrical songs like “My Future”, “Your Power”, and “Therefore I Am”. It shot to the top of the Billboard 200 on its release and was still in the top 50 by the end of 2021, making her the most likely nominee to rival Rodrigo for the award.

Grammy 2022 – Best New Artist Winner

The Best New Artist award celebrates musicians that have “achieved a breakthrough into the public consciousness” and has been won by larger-than-life artists like The Beatles, Adele, and Christina Aguilera. Last year’s award went to Megan Thee Stallion after the release of her first album Good News and the song “WAP” in 2020.

Again, 10 artists have been nominated, including Baby Keem, Arlo Parks, and Japanese Breakfast – though there are a couple out in front.

Olivia Rodrigo (-1200)

It’s Olivia Rodrigo’s second Best New Artist nomination at this year’s Grammys. Her loyal fan base, unqualified success on Spotify, and previous nomination in the category all contribute to her steep -1000 odds that make her the most obvious favourite for the Grammy.

The Kid Laroi (+1000)

The second favourite, albeit by a country mile, is The Kid Laroi. The 18-year-old Australian is a pop, hip hop, and R&B artist. He first made a name for himself in 2020 after a collaboration with American rapper Juice WRLD, followed by the release of “Stay”, a track he made with Justin Bieber.

Grammy 2022 – Record of the Year Winner

Last year, the gramophone trophy for Record of the Year was taken home by Billie Eilish for her title “Everything I Wanted”, a track that went quadruple-platinum in Canada.

Some big names – and wildly diverse ones – are on this year’s nominee list, including Jon Batiste, ABBA, and Justin Bieber. Eilish is also nominated for her track “Happier Than Ever” which has Grammy betting odds of +375, though there are two tracks that are looking more favourable.

Olivia Rodrigo – “Drivers License” (-130)

Yep, it’s Rodrigo again! Her smash hit “Drivers License” could help her to clean up at this year’s Grammys for all three awards. The track was one of the most successful of last year, breaking the record for the biggest first week on both Amazon Music and Spotify before topping the Billboard Hot 100.

Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga – “I Get a Kick Out of You” (+175)

Not too far behind with odds of +175 is “I Get a Kick Out of You”. The song was originally sung by Ethel Merman back in 1936 and has since been covered by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Dolly Parton. The classic song has been refreshed again thanks to a collaboration between the now 95-year-old Tony Bennett and his biggest fan, Lady Gaga.

Grammy 2022 – Song of the Year Winner

The Grammy Song of the Year is distinct from Record of the Year as it focuses on the songwriting and not the production, of the artist’s release. Last year’s winner was “I Can’t Breathe” which was written by D’Mile, Tiara Thomas, and H.E.R.

In 2022, H.E.R. is nominated again – this time with “Fight For You”. It sits alongside Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits”, and Lil Nas X’s “Montero” on the nominee list. The two main contenders, though, come as no surprise: enter, Olivia and Billie. One more time with feeling.

Olivia Rodrigo – “Drivers License” (-225)

Rodrigo could make it a clean sweep with all four of the big awards at this year’s Grammys, quite the feat for a 19-year old, if she can pull it off. Her hit track, “Drivers License”, which she co-wrote with Dan Nigro, is an emotionally raw exploration of a breakup that might feel right at home on an Adele album. It’s ticked all the right boxes to land at odds of -225, making it the favourite to pick up Song of the Year.

Billie Eilish – “Happier Than Ever” (+300)

Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell are up for Song of the Year with the track “Happier Than Ever”, the sixth single from Eilish’s album of the same name. It’s a song of two flavours, starting off with the lilt of a Billie Holiday tune before building up to a more intense, anthemic second half. It’s gone platinum in several countries and reached #6 in the Canadian Hot 100 in recognition of its clever and creative writing.

We might have had to wait a little longer than usual, but the Grammys are finally here, and Bodog is ready to rock with the best Grammy betting odds. It’s going to be a rollicking good night, so get your predictions in, turn up the volume, and enjoy the show.
