F1 Betting: Brazil Grand Prix Odds
The penultimate race of the F1 2022 season is this weekend at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Place in Brazil. F1 fans will be treated to 71 laps on the 4.309-km circuit that many associate with Alain Prost from the 80s. The race is Sunday at 1 PM ET, and some rain and a possibility of thunderstorms are in the forecast. Expect the unexpected in Sao Paulo, with our Brazil Grand Prix odds ever-changing.
While Max Verstappen and Red Bull have already clinched the Driver and Constructor titles for the season, second place is still up for grabs. Sergio Perez (Red Bull) is just five points ahead of Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) in the drivers’ standings, so we should see a competitive battle between them. At last year’s Brazilian GP, Leclerc finished fifth, and Perez finished fourth.
In addition to the battle for second, we’ll no doubt see a highly motivated Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) at Jose Carlos Place. Hamilton struggled early on in the season with mechanical issues, but has finished second in the last two races. At last year’s Brazilian GP, Hamilton overtook Verstappen in dramatic fashion to secure his third victory there and was granted honorary citizen status in Brazil the day after the race. Hamilton has eight podium finishes so far this season and is hungry for his first victory. He’s never experienced an F1 season without a victory.

Max Verstappen -225
The Belgian-Dutch Red Bull driver assumes his usual position at the top of the F1 odds board for the Brazilian GP. He has delivered on that promise 14 times so far this season, including the most recent F1 race at the Mexico City Grand Prix, where he won by a massive 15-second lead. That 14th title breaks the record for most wins achieved in a single campaign—a record that was previously shared between Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel (13).
Lewis Hamilton +450
He’s done it before and he could do it again. Hamilton’s come-from-behind victory over Verstappen at last year’s Brazilian GP was a remarkable achievement; Hamilton was forced to start at the back of the field for the Sprint and then was given a five-position grid penalty which put him in 10th spot on the starting grid. As Hamilton raced his way to second spot, Verstappen forced both himself and Hamilton off the track. Hamilton recovered quickly and passed Verstappen in the 59th lap after an intense battle. Betting has come in on Hamilton for the BGP, where he’s gone from +550 to +450.
Charles Leclerc +700
Sitting just five points behind Sergio Perez on the drivers’ standings, Charles Leclerc will be eager to give it all he’s got in the final two races. Leclerc is coming off of a sixth-place result at the Mexico City GP, but before that he had five straight podium finishes. In last year’s Brazilian GP, Leclerc finished seventh. He’s taken a step back as the third pick on the BGP odds board, going from +600 to +700.
Sergio Perez +1000
Perez will be motivated to protect his second-place position in the standings with a solid performance on Sunday. The Red Bull driver finished fourth at last year’s Brazilian GP and has won two races this year, including the gruelling Singapore GP. Perez finished third behind Verstappen and Hamilton at the Mexico City Grand Prix at the end of October.
George Russell +1400
This will be Russell’s third go at the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver finished 12th in 2019 and 13th in 2021. 2022 has been his most successful campaign yet, finishing fifth or better in all but two races. He came in second at the Dutch Grand Prix, where he took a risk that paid off big time, opting to pit for new tyres late in the race; he finished just 4.071 seconds behind Verstappen in what he described as “the most enjoyable race” of his career.
Canada’s Best Brazil Grand Prix Odds Hopes
The two Canadian drivers competing and hoping to make a mockery of their Brazil Grand Prix odds are Nicholas Latifi (+300000) and Lance Stroll (+100000). Stroll is coming off of a 15th-place finish at the Mexico City Grand Prix, one spot behind his Aston Martin teammate, Sebastian Vettel. Stroll started 20th on the grid and quickly made his way to 15th, but was forced off the track when he engaged with AlphaTauri driver Pierre Gasly. Stroll pointed to their pace and tyres as the reason they didn’t perform optimally in Mexico City. They’re targeting sixth in the constructors’ championship, where they’re currently four points behind Alfa Romeo for seventh.
Latifi, who will be released from Williams at the end of this season and replaced by Logan Sargeant, hasn’t had the results he hoped for in his three-year F1 stint. He’s coming off of his fourth 18th-place finish this season and has just one top-10 finish in 2022: a ninth-place result at the Japanese Grand Prix. The Montreal native is the biggest long shot on the board at +300000.
