Super Bowl LVIII: Best Las Vegas Nightclubs
Anyone Vegas-bound for Super Bowl 58 will be spoiled for choice when it comes to restaurants and entertainment. Everything from the previously-awarded Michelin star restaurants to the futuristic, $2.3 billion music venue, the Sphere, which opened just last September, await NFL fans as they pour out of the McCarran International Airport. U2 will be performing as part of his residency at the Sphere, and Adele will take the stage at Caesars Palace.
But what happens when the show ends and the Super Bowl is still a day away? Vegas has a world-renowned nightlife that can be experienced at their top nightclubs on the Strip, and they all have something special planned for Super Bowl weekend. To help steer you in the right direction, we’ve compiled a list of the five best Las Vegas nightclubs.
Zouk: Resorts World
Located in Resorts World, Zouk is a technological wonder as far as Vegas nightclubs go. This lifestyle destination brand from Singapore was inspired by the founder’s clubbing experiences in Ibiza and the surrounding Mediterranean. It has since expanded to Malaysia, Japan and the USA.
The Vegas venue is basically brand-new, having opened in 2021. Suspended above the dance floor is the franchise’s signature “mothership”: an LED-covered chandelier installation that appears to have a robotic life of its own. The pendant shifts and moves, lights up a kaleidoscope of colours, and flashes beams of spotlight at the venue’s performers and various VIP tables. Although the newest of all of the nightclubs on this list, Zouk’s has already established itself as one of the premier clubbing destinations in Vegas.
Part of that success is attributed to Zouk’s impressive suite of resident DJs. Tiesto and Zedd are arguably their biggest names, but they also have had DJ Snake, Kaskade, G-Eazy and deadmau5. American singer/actress Becky G. has also been a mainstay on Zouk’s performing stage.
Perhaps the best feature of Zouk is its secondary suite called the Empire. This can open up to accommodate bigger crowds for big events, or remain closed off to accommodate a different experience, separate from the main one. Empire Nights are often hip hop nights.
While Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are all excellent nights to party at Zouk, the club is offering a special series of shows for Super Bowl weekend. Thursday, February 8 is T-Pain’s night; Friday is 2 Chainz & Saweetie; Saturday is Illenium & Kaskade, and Super Bowl Sunday will showcase Ludacris.
Drai’s Nightclub: Cromwell
Hip hop fans flock to Drai’s nightclub in the Cromwell on the Strip. This rooftop venue has found its own niche since opening their doors in 1997 by showcasing the world’s greatest hip hop artists, many of which are part of Roc Nation. Big names to take the stage at Drai’s include Ludacris, Fabolous, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Migos, Rick Ross, 50 Cent and TI. With acts that last anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, this is your best bet for having a hip-hop infused night out in Vegas that includes a live performance. While most nightclubs are situated in warehouses, Drai’s is different. The club is on the 11th level rooftop of the Cromwell, which means people get to enjoy the Vegas nightscape as a panoramic view.
As one of the more established nightclubs in Vegas, Drai’s has a big following and relatively long history. The 2017 Super Bowl weekend was kickstarted at Drai’s with Fabolous taking the stage on Friday night for a full-length concert. He delivered his greatest hits, including “Rapture” and “She Wildin”. Chandler Jones and Kareem Martin, Arizona Cardinals linebackers, may have missed out on the NFL postseason that year, but they got to party it up at Drai’s that night. Meanwhile, Olympic swimmer, Ryan Lochte made it out for Drai’s After Hours segment.
This year’s Super Bowl weekend features a lineup of talent that goes from Thursday, February 8 to Super Bowl Sunday. Rick Ross will kick things off on Thursday, and Chris Brown is slotted in for Friday. Meek Mill takes the stage Saturday, and Lil Baby performs Sunday.
Separate from the rooftop nightclub but still in the Cromwell is Drai’s After Hours venue. This late-night venue is an underground lounge that features DJs who spin hip hop and EDM throughout four rooms.
Hakkasan: MGM Grand
Part of the Tao Group Hospitality brand, Hakkasan has a nightclub worth checking out at the MGM Grand Hotel on the Strip. Since opening in 2013, Hakkasan has hosted many memorable nights and is part of the annual Exodus Festival. Some big-name DJs who spin there include Tiesto and Steve Aokie.
One feature that you’ll notice right away is the “Hakkasan Grid”—an architectural installation suspended in the air. Similar to the “Mothership” at Zouk, Hakkasan’s 30-foot kinetic light installation is the biggest of its kind. It’s composed of sculptural LED triangles that keep the party going with an immersive light show.
Hakkasan’s five levels mean there’s something for everyone in at least one of the rooms. The fourth level is the main room, where you’ll find a dance floor, surrounded by oversized VIP booths. This is the heart of the action. Adjacent to it is the Pavilion, where you can get a breath of fresh air. This room has a garden, in addition to its own smaller dance floor and DJ booth.
Heading up a level, you’ll get to the Mezzanine, which strikes a good balance between a private VIP experience and a thumping dance vibe. Private parties are popular here.
The atmosphere shifts again when you get to the lounge on the third level. It has its own dance floor and lots of VIP booths. Adjacent is a semi-private lounge where you can enjoy some pre-drinks in an intimate setting before joining the action. Fridays and Saturdays are big nights at Hakkasan; for Super Bowl weekend, Tyga is performing on Friday.
Tao: Venetian
Tucked in the Venetian resort, Tao is a nightclub that—on a superficial level—embraces the Chinese philosophy and religion of Taoism. Fortunately, you don’t need to know anything about it to have a great time here. Surrounding the main bar (one of three bars) is a tower of hand-carved monk statues that create a unique backdrop. Temple-inspired architecture enhance the interior that clearly embraces all things Zen. The outside terrace gives people a chance to enjoy the fresh air while still in the club.
Tao is one of the older and more established nightclubs in Vegas, having opened in 2005. The brand is from New York, where the Tao Restaurant has been extremely successful. And it’s not just a nightclub in Vegas; you can enjoy the franchise bistro and dayclub too.
Celebrities and professional athletes are common sights at Tao. In 2007, the MTV Awards After Party abandoned the host venue and showed up at Tao ready to party. Rihanna, Heidi Klum, Kim Kardashian, Usher, Drake, Jamie Foxx, Jay-Z and Madonna have all partied at Tao.
Super Bowl Weekend is going to be huge here. Fat Joe is set to perform on Thursday, and Jermaine Dupri is slotted in for Friday. On Saturday, Mustard takes the stage, and for Super Bowl Sunday, Tao will host the “TAO Bowl,” where you can watch the game at a VIP booth; a special Super Bowl culinary menu and bottle service will be provided.
XS: Wynn
For a lavish and elegant experience at a nightclub, check out XS (open since 2008) via the Encore Esplanade at Wynn. This venue’s esthetic is curvy, sensual, and opulent. It’s the highest-grossing nightclub in America—for good reason.
As you walk up the ornate gold entryway that’s designed to showcase the female body, you’ll be drawn into a lavish interior where beauty reigns supreme. The dance floor is central upon entry, and surrounded by rows of VIP booths, perfect for people who like to stay close to the action, but if you continue on, you’ll get to their famous pool in the patio area outside.
Beautifully lit to enhance an intimate and inviting atmosphere, the Encore European pool is a sight to behold. There are private cabanas for those who like to lounge pool side while still enjoying the perks of bottle service. On Sunday nights, the venue hosts their popular “Night Swim” parties.
Resident DJs are the headliners at XS and include well-known artists like The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, David Guetta, Dillon Francis, Diplo, DJ Snake, Drake, Kygo, and more.
Super Bowl weekend will be particularly sizzling. The venue is hosting the Sports Illustrated: The Party, presented by Captain Morgan, which was a hit in 2023. This is designed for NFL fans attending the Super Bowl and includes a custom-built Captain Morgan bar at the entryway. The event’s lineup will include The Chainsmokers and Kygo. The next day, resident DJ, Marshmello will perform.
