Taylor Swift Snubs Canada: Is There Bad Blood?

Taylor Swift odds

Taylor Swift is not a popular girl in Canada right now.

Why? This last week saw the “Shake It Off” star announce a number of new dates and venues for her Eras world tour, but with one prime location missing.

That’s right, her tour takes her to the US, Mexico, Europe, Asia and Australia, but there’s no place for the Great White North.

So, is there some “Bad Blood” between the 33-year-old and Canadians? With close to 40 new dates, Swifties around the globe will be treated to their very own “Love Story”, but when searching for dates closer to home, we’re met with nothing but a “Blank Space”.

One disgruntled fan took to Twitter to express their disappointment. “The giant country above the USA is called Canada. Maybe you’ve never heard of us, or looked at a map,” they quipped. “Like, wtf? This hurts. So much for Canadian Swifties, I guess.”

Talk about a “Cruel Summer”. Even Edmonton MP Matt Jeneroux has promised to lodge an “official grievance” with Parliament to try and force some additional dates.

“I filed an official letter of grievance,” Jeneroux claimed. “I don’t actually know if that’s really a thing. I would like to file an official grievance within Parliament on behalf of all Swifties in Canada for her and her team to reconsider.

“Not only is this leaving Canadian fans without the opportunity to see her tour, but it is also leaving Canada out of the economic opportunities her shows generate. It is estimated that these shows could generate $4.6 billion for local economies.”

By the time she arrives in London in 2024, it will have been six years since the queen of break-up songs – who featured in our recent OnlyFans betting blog – performed Canada during her Reputation tour.

Are Taylor and Canada ever (ever) getting back together? Bodog thinks there is still a chance with this summer the current favourite on our Taylor Swift odds board:

July to September 2023: +175

October to December 2023: +350

October to December 2024: +400

2025 or later: +400

July to September 2024: +500

January to March: +1500

April to June 2024: +1500

Whenever Swifty decides to pop her head up in Canada, the question will shift to where exactly will she take her first show on Canadian soil since 2018? We make Toronto’s Rogers Centre an EVS favourite, with Montreal’s Olympic Stadium and Vancouver’s BC Place closely behind at +250 and +350 respectively. Winnipeg’s IG Field is as big as +2000, with the Gateway to the West potentially reserved for the “Wildest Dreams”.

Perhaps the Eras tour would be more likely to visit Canada if the star of the show was dating a native? Bodog currently have live odds on Taylor Swift’s next boyfriend with Shawn Mendes seemingly carrying the hopes of Canadians at +600 ahead of longer shots such as The Weeknd (+2500) and Drake (+3000).

On behalf of all Canadians, Bodog would like to extend a heartfelt plea to Taylor to reconsider her snub of our neighbouring country.

We love you, and you know that “All Too Well”.
